Latest Publications: Our Town at Year Three and 2022 Periodic Evaluation Insights
Ten-year time horizons aren’t the norm (yet!) but what we know is that real, lasting change takes time. As Our Town heads into our fourth year we're sharing where the initiative is up to through our latest publications.

Our Town at Year Three, provides a current snapshot (as of late 2023) of where the initiative is up to. Covering what sets Our Town apart from other models for collective change, Our Town at Year Three offers a glimpse into its key components and shares examples of progress and impact to date.

"Our Town is more than an investment of funds into communities, it is an investment in relationship-building, human connection and people power".

Our Town at Year Three

Our Town is working differently than other traditional place-based models, eliciting longer-term, sustainable shifts in regional mental health.

Evaluation in Our Town happens at different levels and in different ways but most importantly, is community led. Evaluation helps us learn and reflect in real time and understand progress. In anticipation of the forthcoming 2023 Periodic Evaluation Summary and in living our practice of transparency and Our Town’s principle of learning our way through change we're thrilled to be sharing the summary findings from the 2022 Periodic Evaluation Summary.

An important use of the periodic evaluation findings is in helping us to understand the types of change we are seeing as an impact of the work of Our Town towns. Here, we have mapped different instances of impact against the Six Conditions of Systems change model to demonstrate the breadth of Our Town's impact across structural, relational, and transformative change.

Insights from 2022 Periodic Evaluation

In 2022, Town Teams built on their foundations of governance, operations, and team-forming while implementing a range of activities.

We're excited to share these publications with our allies, advocates, and all those who have been following Our Town since the beginning, as well as those who are just joining us on this ten-year journey. We hope these insights are valuable to you and invite you to reach out if you're interested in delving deeper into our work or sharing your own experiences and insights on community-led, placed-based change initiatives.
